Underground

In honor of the month of "love," I've decided to love my family a little more by going underground. That is, I will be unplugging a little bit. I've deleted FB and Pinterest apps from my phone and I am trying not to use my phone and computer during kid waking hours. Of course if you call me, I'll answer. :)

When I told my sister about this challenge a couple of days ago, I said, "I'm starting tomorrow."
She said, "That's what addicts say."

I've been thinking about this for a while now but was inspired by my baby sister, the Hands Free Mama blog (recommended by a friend who is joining my movement,) and an article from my church's monthly publication  (coincidently I got this in the mail after I made the decision to do this little experiment.) Oh, and more inspiration came from my cute kiddos who deserve a more attentive mom.

I've had fun doing hard things in the past. Like the month I quit all sugar. I learned a lot from it and have changed for the better.

My friends know that I'm a self-help book/blog/podcast junkie. So maybe I'll find another crazy project to work on after this.

In preparation for this big change, I cleaned up my Pinterest account and came across this recipe. I made it tonight and it was delish.

Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken

(P.S. Thanks El for being my fan even though I'm a little out there!)

I love you, Court. You are an inspiration...always trying to improve yourself and inviting us to join with you. The best of friends! Thanks for giving me something to think about. You really are amazing.

You go GIRL! This is a great challenge. Women are made to do the hard things in life, with wisdom and order....with as many redo's as necessary. It does seem time for all of us gals to move some necessary "mountains" in our lives and live with a little more ease, peace and love. Thanks for the inspiration!

The Hands Free Mama is applauding you! For me, having the awareness about the high cost of my distraction was HUGE, then it was all about making the choice to choose the moments that matter over distraction. I can honestly say that although there are times when I don't want to let go of my distraction, every single time I do, something meaningful has occurred. I will never go back to a distracted life again!

Thank you for mentioning my message as part of your inspiration for this awesome change in your life. If you need encouragement, please visit me again. I write about letting go of distraction (external and internal) every week.

Best wishes!

I lost my phone a couple of months ago and have had to use a "loner" phone that had no app capabilities. At first it was annoying, but now I don't even miss it!
